Member representing Dunukofia Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu has called on Christians to participate fully during the lenten season for sober reflection through prayer, fasting and charity.

Ezeudu disclosed this in his Lenten message to Christians yesterday after the Plenary session at the Anambra State House of Assembly complex, Awka.

The lawmaker while stating that lent is important for the renewal of the mind, described the season as a period of spiritual retreat for sober reflection. He urged Christians to utilize the Fourty days prayer and fasting period to seek divine mercy given that all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Ezeudu said: ” As this year’s lent starts with Ash Wednesday which signifies mortality, humility and repentance, I urge Christians to use this period for sober reflection and purge self, given that all have fallen short of the glory of God.

” It is a period of prayer, fasting and charity which will elicit divine blessings,” Ezeudu affirmed.

The lawmaker further added that believers are sure of God’s blessing if they have forgiving spirit.

“Lenten season also calls for reflection on the suffering, sacrifice, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The lawmaker enjoined Christians to continue praying for the nation and leaders.
