CBN OPPOSES BID TO PUT OFF ARABIC INSCRIPTIONS FROM NAIRA NOTES

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has but expressed serious opposition to an in-shape before the Federal High Court in Lagos looking to put off the Arabic inscriptions written at the Nigeria Currency.

CBN has disclosed to Federal High Court that it would cost a massive sum of money to discard the prevailing notes and print new ones without it, Stressing that the Arabic inscription written at the Naira notes, isn’t always an image or mark of Islam, however an inscription to assist non-English speakers or uneducated population who’re literate in it to ease trade.
