Anambra Lawmaker Egbuna Ends Sojourn With APC, Returns To PDP

The member representing Onitsha-North 1 constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly, Hon. Douglas Nwachukwu Egbuna says he has ended his sojourn with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has returned back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he originally belongs.

Egbuna who made the public declaration of his return to the PDP on the floor of the 7th state assembly at plenary on Tuesday said his reasons were personal but noted that he has missed his home party which gave him ticket to the House of Assembly.

In his words, “Am pleased to announce my defection from All Progressives Congress (APC) back to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for reasons best known to me. ”

Egbuna who is the Deputy Minority Chief Whip of the Anambra 7th Assembly has been actively involved in legislative proceedings including moving motions bordering on the development of Onitsha-North 1 constituency and Anambra state at large.

Meanwhile the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor took cognisance of his defection to the PDP and on behalf of other members of the state assembly wished Douglas Nwachukwu Egbuna well in his political endeavours.
